Our craft

Built like good food — slowly, carefully, with intent.

Soil is not a filler. We treat every yard like a living product: sourced, finished, blended, and moved while biology is still awake.

  1. 01

    Source locally

We partner with Central Valley orchards, vineyards, and urban wood programs for clean feedstock — no mystery sludge.

  2. 02

    Cook it right

Thermophilic piles are turned and monitored until pathogens are gone and the compost is stable, dark, and sweet-smelling.

  3. 03

    Blend for life

Mineral balance, aeration, and living inoculants are matched to each product so roots find air, water, and food in the same handful.

  4. 04

    Ship fresh

Bagged and bulk blends leave our yard weekly so biology stays active when it reaches your beds.

Our story

From Valley orchards to your backyard beds.

EarthRise began with a simple frustration: bagged soil that looked dark in the store and went lifeless by summer. We started composting for neighbors, then nurseries, then farms that wanted biology — not dust and bark.

Today we blend living soils in the Sacramento Valley, partnering with local growers for clean organics and delivering peat-free mixes that respect California water and heat.

Whether you tend a balcony tomato or a half-acre market garden, the goal is the same: soil that rises with every season.

Growers say

Trusted by home gardens and nurseries alike.

We rebuilt three raised beds with EarthRise Raised Bed Blend. Everything from tomatoes to cut flowers took off — and we water less than last year.

Maya R.Home grower, East Sac

Consistent, clean, and biologically alive. Our nursery switched wholesale potting mix and customer transplant shock dropped noticeably.

Luis C.Nursery manager, Davis

The Compost+ top-dress on our orchard floor looks simple, but the soil test and the trees both told the same story: more life.
